John Morrow was a native of Dunleavy, County Monaghan, Ireland, where he tended a grist mill. He married Nancy, daughter of John Gamble and some years after his sons and father-in-law had immigrated to Bradford county, he and his wife came between 1822 and 1824. Mr. Morrow was an expert builder of stone-wall fences and was thus employed by the more thrifty farmers after settling in Wilmot. He married Nancy about 1797.

Inscription

MORROW, John, d: 24 Oct 1837 67y (Native of Ireland). At the bottom it says:
"The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come." [from Isaiah 57:1]
- "The Message: The Bible in Contemporary Language," by Eugene H. Peterson, translates this by combining verses 1 and 2 as follows: "Meanwhile, right-living people die and no one gives them a thought. God-fearing people are carted off and no one even notices. The right-living people are out of their misery, they're finally at rest. They lived well and with dignity and now they're finally at peace."
