Myrtle Minner was born May 27, 1892 near Holton, Kansas. She was the daughter of Herbert M. and Jennie Lynn Bailey.
She lived most of her girlhood near Holton, with the exception of a few years near Elk Falls, Kansas.
As a young woman she accepted Christ as her own personal Saviour. She joined the Methodist Church in Holton.
She was united in marriage to Charlie Minner of Soldier, Kansas on October 22, 1917. To this union was born two children, a daughter Charlene and a son, Francis. She was a loving wife devoted mother and grandmother.
On Sunday October 22, 1967 the Minner's observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary at home with their children and grandchildren present.
She departed this life on Wednesday, November 8, 1967, at the age of 75 years, five months and twelve days. She passed away in the Onaga hospital.
She was preceeded in death by her mother and father, five brothers, Arthur, Ed, Elmer, Harlan and Herman Bailey.
She is survived by her husband Charlie Minner of the home; a daughter Charlene (Mrs. Merwin Squires) of Holton, Kansas; a son Francis Minner of Soldier, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Lois Smith of Ojai, California; a brother, Roy Bailey of Fort Collins, Colorado; Eight grand-children and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at the Soldier Methodist Church on November 12, 1967 at 2:30 P.M. Rev. Melvin Ammon officiated. Vocal music was furnished by Mrs. Mildred Kling and Mrs. Merle Proctor. They were accompanied by Mrs. Roy Marcoux.
Flower girls were Mrs. Mabel Stohr, Mrs. Patty McDonald and Mrs. Nellie Shepherd.
Pall bearers were: F.S. Kling, Evan Lewelling, Herman Hamilton, Claude Area, Clyde White, and Gaylon Stanton.
Interment was in the Soldier Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
