Kroger Babb was the Hollywood producer of "Mom and Dad", the most successful sex hygiene film ever, and the biggest pre-1960 exploitation film of any kind. The film made millions. He made a handfull of other films with such stars as Hardie Albright and Ruth Warwick and the talented moppet, Ginger Prince. Kroger's motto was, "You gotta tell 'em to sell 'em". In 1943 while roadshowing "Dust to "Dust, a sex ed drama with birthing footage, Babb attended a Texas town meeting, called because numerous high school girls had become pregnant by soldiers from a nearby camp. "It was a hell of a meeting," Babb remembered, you had all these old biddies squabbling and roasting everybody. Then it hit me. . . this would make a hell of a movie!" Years later Kroger was the inspiration for the successful career of John Waters.
