Cynthia Lucinda COLLIER was born 21-May-1825 in Granville Co., NC. Lucinda was a daughter of Archellus C. Collier and Mary "Polly" (Hight) Collier. She died 12-Nov-1913 in Merkel, Taylor Co., TX, and was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Merkel, Taylor Co., TX. She died at the age of 88. Lucinda was a farmer. She married Johnson Adcock on 15-Dec-1842 in Marshall County, MS. Johnson was born 13-Mar-1818 in NC and was a son of Stephen Adcock and Sarah Johnson. Johnson was murdered by a sniper on 18-Mar-1862 in Holly Springs, Marshall County, MS. Johnson was buried in Holly Springs.

Lucinda and Johnson moved frequently between Maury County, TN and Marshall County, MS. After Johnson was murdered, Lucinda and children continued to live in Holly Springs until 1865 when they moved to Maury County, TN where they remained until 1873. In 1873 Lucinda moved her flock to Fayette Co., TX--near LaGrange.



Lucinda and Johnson were the parents of eight children.

8. Sarah Alexander "Sallie" ADCOCK b. 26-Nov-1860.

Following the death of Joanna and her husband George M. Hunt, Lucinda reared their daughter, Mary Ella Hunt.
