Mr. Orestes S. Mowery, 80, widely known Saltcreek Valley farmer, died at 3:15 a.m. Friday in Berger Hospital. He was admitted in the Hospital October 17th.

Mr. Mowery was born in Saltcreek Township in the home in whch he has recently resided. His parents were John Franklin and Mrs. Mary Eudora Wolfe Mowery.

Mr. Mowery was a life long member of St. Jacobs Lutheran Church of Tarlton. He was a member of the Saltcreek Valley Grange, Saltcreek Township PTA, Pomona Grange of Pickaway County, and for a number of years was correspondent for the Pickaway County News of Ashville and the Circleville Herald.

He was married on April 18, 1906 and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nellie Dresbach Mowery.

Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs Wayne (Virginia) Luckhart of 219 Cedar Heights Rd.; two grandsons, Max Luckhart of Laurelville Route 1 and S-Sgt David Luckhart with the U. S. Air Force in Youngstown; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Nelson A. Strous of Laurelville Route 1.

The Saltcreek Valley Grange held services at the Defenbaugh Funeral Home at 7:30 p. m. Sunday.
Funeral services were held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Frank Casazar and the Rev. Samuel Elsea officiating.

Burial was in the Tarlton Cemetery.
