Stephen Ray Craft, son of Opal Wise Borders of Sikeston and the late Virgil Craft, was born on Aug. 16, 1952, in Bernie and died on Monday, March 9, 2009, at his residence in Sikeston at the age of 56.

Mr. Craft was a former truck driver employed with Kimberly Clark Corporation in Memphis, Tenn., and a resident of Sikeston.

On May 18, 1979, he was united in marriage to Apryl Webster in Sikeston. Mrs. Craft survives of the home in Sikeston.

Other survivors are mother, Opal Borders and step-father, Gerald Borders of Sikeston; one son, William Ray Craft and wife Elizabeth of Sikeston; two daughters, Jennifer Sletten and husband Shaun of Sikeston and Stephanie Stanfield and husband Travis of Bernie; one brother, Gary Craft and wife Darla of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Sharion Turman and husband Keith of Bernie; and eight grandsons.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Steve Tippen officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
