Willard E. Ferrall

Willard E. Ferrall, 91, formerly of Columbiana, OH, and Leesburg, FL, died at the Essa Flory Hospice Center, Lancaster, PA, on Tuesday, December 4. Mr. Ferrall had been a resident at Willow Valley Retirement Community, Lancaster, PA, since 1987.

He was the husband of the late Margaret Brillhart Ferrall, who died in 2003.

A graduate of The Ohio State University, Willard taught social studies at Fairfield School and at Salem High School between 1937 and 1941. He went on to work at The National Union Bank in Columbiana, retiring as Executive Vice President in 1975.

He served in the US Army during WWII and was honorably separated as a Major after the Korean conflict.

Willard was recently a member of Willow Street United Church of Christ and had previously been a long time member of Grace United Church of Christ, Columbiana, where he was a member of the churchs Consistory and of First Presbyterian Church, Leesburg.

He was a former member of Columbiana School Board, a member of Kiwanis, and of the American Legion and Allen Lodge #276, F. & A. M.

Born in Columbiana, he was the son of the late Albert S. and Margaret Wallace Ferrall. Willard is survived by a daughter, Susan Ferrall Bailey, of Geneseo, NY, a son, James A. married to Rebecca Tahyi Ferrall of Woodbridge, VA, and 4 grandchildren, Kate Bailey and Rachel Bailey Jones and Adam and Peter Ferrall.
