Last Rites For Mrs R.C. Lanier
" Funeral services for Mrs. G.R.C. Lanier were held from the funeral parlors of Williams Cannon Funeral Home in this city at four o"clock on Thursday afternoon.
Mrs. Lanier passed away Wednesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Homer Hill of this city. She had been in ill health for several years but had been seriously ill only about four weeks before her passing. Mrs. Lanier was born and reared in Gwinnett county and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Mahaffey, well known in that section of the state.
Mrs. Lanier was sixty nine years of age at the time of her passing. She was a member of the First Christian church of this city to which she gave loyal and devoted service.
Following the funeral service the body was carried to Statham where interment was directed by Williams Cannaon Funeral Home. The funeral services were conducted by Rev, Clifford Foster, pastor of the First Christian church of the city, assisted by Rev,W.B. McDonald.
Surviving Mrs. Lanier are her husband and the following children W.S. Lanier of Crawfordville ( Gail ?'s ville part) ,R.R.Lanier of Bergenfield,N.J., G.C. Lanier of Atlanta,Mrs.J. Homer Hill of Winder, Mrs. D.B.Lovejoy of Sparta, Mrs. J.J. Smith of Sparta, Mrs. G.Lyle Ethridge of Bergenfield,N.J. and Mrs.C.G. Roberts of Atlanta. All were at her side when she passed away. She is also survived by four sisters Mrs. Emma Drake of Atlanta, Mrs. Neva Coates of Fort Pierce, Florida, Mrs. W.M. Bailey of Bogart and Mrs G.L. Moore of Elberton."
