Mr. Beckhart died Thursday, Oct. 8, 1998, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Mr. Beckhart was born March 5, 1943, in Rock Island, the son of Charles and Emma Braet Beckhart. He married Vera Hermann June 6, 1964, in Rock Island.
He had worked as a machine operator at Deere Harvester Works for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was an Army veteran.
He was a member of the church and UAW Local 434 and a lifetime member of the Rock Island Boat Club. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Mary Beckhart, a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Randy Shesky, three grandchildren; his mother, Emma, and a brother, Ronnie Beckhart, all of Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his father.
