Harrison Gray Platt graduated from Yale University in 1888 and was admitted to the Oregon Bar in 1890. He was the senior partner in the law firm of Platt, Platt, Fales, Smith and Black in Portland, Oregon for many years.

Harrison Gray Platt was a member of the Oregon Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. His patriot lineage is son of Henry c and Emma (Treat) Platt; grandson of Jonah and Hetta Treat; great-grandson of Jonah and Rebecca (Treat) Treat; great2-grandson of Samuel Treat, Major, Fitch's Second Connecticut, Continentals; great2-grandson Joseph Treat, private, Connecticut Troops, and soldiers' nurse at Milford, Pensioned.
