George H. Berlet, 64, of Rt. 2, near Moulton, vice president of the Ohio Trapshooting Assoc. and one of the top shooters in Ohio, died at 12.15. p.m. Monday in Joint Township Memorial Hospital St. Marys, where he had been a patient two day. He suffered a stroke Saturday. Mr. Berlet also operated Berlet Farm Service Co of nearby Moulton. He had served as a member of the Moulton Local School Board and the Auglaize County School Board. He was formerly a teacher and was a charter member of the Moulton Gun Club. Mr. Berlet was born April 19, 1901 in Washington Township, Auglaize county, son of Adam and Clara Smith Berlet. On Dec. 31, 1924 he married Gretchen Rohrbacher, who survives. Also surviving are tow sons, Ned of Rt. 2 and David at home; a daughter, Mrs. Casper (Rachael) Hoelscher of Rt.2; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Morrie (Myrtle)Seitz of Rt. 2 and Mrs Donald (Mary) Archer of Wapakoneta and a brother Albert of Independence, Mo. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moulton. Funeral servcies will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Siferd Funeral Home, with Roger Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
