Vigil service for the Rev. James M. Burke, 74, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Mount St. Michael's Cemetery.

The Rev. Burke's nephew, Kevin, will preside at the funeral Mass and his niece, Eileen, will coordinate the vigil service.

The Rev. Burke, who died Monday, was born in Wyoming.

He was ordained in 1954 and had lived and worked in Spokane for 12 years. He was the director of Focus in Spokane, a program for spiritual and ministerial renewal.

The Rev. Burke also had been involved with Marriage Encounter.

He is survived by one sister, Mary Klink of Santa Barbara, California; and three brothers, Joseph and John Burke, both of Casper, Wyoming, and William Burke of Sun City, Arizona.
