MICHAEL ANTHONY VAN HOOK
Known as Tony to friends and family, he was the only child born to Lorraine (Nelson) and Eddie Van Hook. At the time of his death he was a Truck Driver for WalMart.

Tony was a kind but quiet person and kept to himself. He was married but had no children of his own. He had many uncles, aunts and cousins who all LOVED him and MISS him very much!

He meant the world to all of us, but none more than his mother, Lorraine who died of "Broken Heart" just four months after loosing her only child.

Graveside services for Anthony "Tony" Van Hook, 42, New Boston will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the New Boston Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. at the Family Funeral Services in New Boston, with a prayer service..... Memorials to the St. Theresea Catholic Church, New Boston.

Mr. Van Hook died Monday, September 28, 1998, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He was born April 30, 1956 in Aledo, the son of Edwin and Lorraine (Nelson) Van Hook. He married Brenda Blevins May 1979 in Burlington, Iowa.

He was a 1974 graduate of Westmer High School, Joy IL. He was a truck driver for Wal Mart for several years and was member of the Untied States Navy Corp.

Surviving are his mother, Lorraine Van Hook, Illinois City; aunts and uncles, Lloyd and Marilyn Nelson of New Boston, Ressa and Chet Sedam of New Boston; half sisters Monique and Martisa Van Hook of Burlington. He was proceeded in death by his father and grand parents, Bessie & Harold Van Hook and Lloyd & Kathryn Nelson.
