BALDWYN - Mary Lucille Hopkins, 86, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a member of the Hill's Chapel Baptist Church and a retired employee of Reed Manufacturing. She enjoyed yard work and loved her dog "Pewe" and gardening.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Loyd Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the Tupelo Memorial Park. Waters Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, James "Bud" Hopkins (Faye), Johnny Hopkins (Caren) and Tommie Hopkins, all of Baldwyn and Lottie Cransover of Georgia; great-nieces and nephews, Roger Hopkins (Wanda), Darrell Hopkins (Shelly), Chad and Andy Hopkins (Alicia), Brandon Hopkins, Susan James (Harold), Matthew Hopkins and Dewayne Hopkins (Jennifer); several great-great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Millie Nichols, Deborah Odom and Sandy James.

She was preceded in death by a brother, J.R. Hopkins (Eunice); sisters, Inez Hopkins and Lessie Hopkins; and nephews, Donnie Hopkins and Wayne Hopkins.

Her great nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
