Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, June 24, at 3pm at the First Methodist Church in Fluvanna for Mrs. L. L. Lightfoot, 62, mother of Mrs. J. W. Jackson of this city. The deceased, a pioneer of Scurry County having made her home there for 40 years, died in a Sweetwater hospital Tuesday morning, June 22, following a lengthy illness.
Ministers in charge of the funeral services were Rev. A. L. Patterson of the Fundamental Baptist Church and Rev. S. H. Young of the Highland Heights Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of Sweetwater; four daughters, Mr. J, W. Jackson, Leonard, Mrs. Jim Clanton, Mrs. Pete Bradshaw, Sweetwater, Miss Myrtle Lightfoot, Dallas; and three sons, T. A. Lightfoot of Jal, N.M. and J. J. and Bill Lightfoot of Sweetwater.
