Helen Ruth Jennings, 90, of Lawrenceville, IL passed away Friday February 27, 2009 at Willow Manor in Vincennes, IN.

She was born February 18, 1919 in Noble, IL the daughter of John and Ina (Michels) Barnett. She was married August 12, 1955 to Veris E. "Bud" Jennings who passed away June 23, 1998.

She is survived by 2 sons: Mark and wife Dee Jennings of Bridgeport, IL, Jim Jennings of Newburgh, IN, a sister: Lela Mae Barnett of Sumner, IL, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. 2 brothers are deceased.

She worked for B & O Railroad and then worked several years until retirement for the State of Illinois as a case worker for the Department of Public Aid. She was a member of the Union Chapel Church, and a member of the VFW.

The funeral will be Monday at 10:00am at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sumner Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
