JUDGE ROBERT DOUGLASS, WELL KNOWN PIONEER, PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY

The funeral of Judge Robert Douglass, who died at his home, 720 North Weber street, at 7:45 o'clock yesterday morning, will be held from the first Presbyterian church tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. E. W. Work will officiate and interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.

Judge Douglass was one of the best known pioneers of Colorado and El Paso county. Born in Pennsylvania 85 years ago. Mr. Douglass came to Colorado in 1862 and was made probate judge of Park county the year following. In 1868 he came to El Paso county and has been a resident here ever since.

Judge Douglass was an elder of the Presbyterian church and has always been a leader in all movements which tend to lift the community morally and socially. He was a staunch Republican and was always prominent in the councils of the party. He was at one time president of the Colorado Cattlemen's Association.

He is survived by three children, E. E. Douglass, Miss Ada Douglass and Mrs. Nicholson; also thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His wife passed away in this city ten years ago and was interred at Evergreen cemetery.
