James Frazier "Daredevil Jimmy" was born in Pine Grove, Bath Co., KY; he had 14 siblings. The family moved to Marshall, Saline Co., MO, and in 1920 his father Joseph worked as a carpenter; and Jimmy, age 16, worked as a laborer in a shoe factory. In 1930 they were still living in Marshall; Jimmy was 27, single and was a parachute jumper; he was a pilot and loved to fly ... his parachute jumping and aerial acrobatics earned him the name "Daredevil Jimmy". He moved to Colo. Springs, CO after 1930. Married 12 Aug 1938 to Dorothy Helen Rose, b. 12 Jan 1908. In 1940 they were living in Colo. Springs, CO, he was an Air Mail messenger pilot. He & Dorothy managed a hotel for awhile, then they bought their first and only home on 1814 N. Royer. Jimmy the entrepreneur started his Airport Limousine Service company which he ran until he retired. His wife Dorothy was a Public School Teacher. Jimmy was a good natured man always ready with a laugh and an Irish twinkle in his eyes; he had a good sense of humor, was generous, and loved his family more than anything. Jimmy & Dorothy had three children, two sons and a daughter. NOTE: Their daughter-in-law, Emma Katherine Benjamin-Donahue, b. 23 Sep 1955, Terre Haute, IN - d. 1 Mar 1990, Leadville, CO and granddaughter, Cedar Sandia Rose b. 13 Aug 1982, Colorado Springs, CO - d. 24 Feb 1986, Leadville, CO, do not have memorials; their ashes were scattered at the summit of Independence Pass, CO.
