WEST SALEM -- Helen G. Wittmer, 62, of West Salem, died Monday, June 1, 2002, at her home.
She was born April 23, 1940, in Lorain.
Mrs. Wittmer was employed as a bookkeeper at T. J. Maxx, Lorain, for 15 years.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, West Salem, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lorain, Buckey Rambling Rod in Wooster and the West Salem Historical Society. She was a frequent blood donor.
Survivors include her husband of five years, Donald Wittmer, daughters Debra Jacobs of Lorain and Darla Johnson of McArthur, four grandsons, sisters Marian Schnitzler of California and Joanne Farr of Wellington, brothers Thomas Foisy of Jasper, Ind., John Foisy of Bellevue, David Foisy and Raymond Roisy, both of Lorain, Ken Foisy of Vermilion and Gerry Foisy of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, George J. and Georgene (nee Craft) Foisy; and brother, Robert Foisy in 1996.
Friends may call Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m. at Matteson Funeral Home, 40 Congress St., West Salem. Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 44 Britton St., West Salem, with the Rev. Carl Uhler officiating. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
