EDWARD WHITMER PASSES
Edward Whitmer, 60, died at four o'clock yesterday morning, at his home, 44 Orchard street, after an illness of four weeks.
Mr. Whitmer was born August 3, 1870, in Brownhelm, where he spent the greater part of his life. He also lived in Berea for some ime, coming from there to Oberlin last October.
He is survived by a wife, Mary E. Whitmer, one son, Jacob, of Lorain, three daughters, Mrs. William Grote of Vermilion, Mrs. Frank Wanger of Lorain, and Mrs. C. A. Buchholz of Oberlin, with whom he and his wife lived: also two brothers, Albert and George of Vermilion, a sister, Vera M. of Oberlin, and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m., at the home on Orchard street, and at 2 o'clock in the Henrietta M. E. church, Rev. Meisenbach and Rev. Allinger of Berea will officiate at the servidces. Burial willl be made in Brownhelm cemetery.

FORMER VERMILIONITE DIES AT OBERLIN
The final chapter in the life of Edward Wittmer, formerly a well known resident of Douglas Street. was closed Sunday morning when he passed on at the home of his daughter Mrs. Buchholz at Oberlin. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon andlfcre was laid to rest in the family plot at Brownhelm.
Mr. Wittmer was born on the third of August sixty years ago on what is known as the Old Homestead in Brownhelm, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wittmer. He was married to Miss Mary Miller of Brownhelm. Four children, three daughters and a son, were born to this couple. Some sixteen years ago the family moved to Vermilion where they lived until about three years ago when they joined their daughter Mrs. Buchholz and family at Berea and later at Oberlin where they have since resided.
Five years ago Mr. Wittmer was injured while at work in the Lorain shipyard. He never fully recovered from this and other complications developed last November which caused his demise.
He was a faithful member of the Exchange Street M. E. Church and when that organization dissolved a few years ago he transferred his membership to the Henrietta Church.
Funeral services were conducted by an old time pastor-friend, Rev. Ollinger of Berea assisted by Rev. Messinbach, a former pastor of the Henrietta Church.
Of the immediate family there are left to mourn their loss the wife, one son Jacob of Lorain, three daughters, Mrs. Wm. Grote of Vermilion, Mrs, Frank Wagner of Lorain, Mrs. C. E. Buchholz of Oberlin, two brothers George; and Albert Wittmer of Vermilion and one sister Miss Vera Witmer.
