She was born Oct. 18, 1929, in Yugoslavia. She moved to Vermilion 55 years ago from Akron.
Mrs. Grote was employed in the cafeteria for Vermilion Public Schools for 15 years and also worked at South Shore Packing, Vermilion.
She was a member of the Ohio Public Schools Employees Union in Vermilion. She enjoyed reading, flowers, shopping and working on the computer.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Clarence Grote; sons Mike Grote of Huron, Bill Grote of New London and Don Grote of Vermilion; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna (nee Greenwald) Albert.
Friends may call Friday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion, where services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Brian Briggs will officiate. Burial will follow in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.
