HENRIETTA TOWNSHIP -- Shirley A. Filker, 77, of Henrietta Township, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at New Life Hospice, Lorain.
She was born April 25, 1928, in Henrietta Township, where she lived her whole life.
She graduated from Henrietta High School and the M.B. Johnson School of Nursing in Elyria.
Mrs. Filker worked for many years at Dr. Drygas' office in Lorain and at Allen Medical Center in Oberlin.
She was a member of Henrietta United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild and the Farm Women's Club. She enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Hieatt of Dublin; son, Kirk Filker of Wakeman; brother, Maynard Dellefield of Henrietta; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Filker; and her parents, Louis and Jessie (nee Kropf) Dellefield.
Friends may call Saturday from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. at Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper St., Wakeman. Pastor Paul Eaton of Henrietta United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial in Brownhelm Cemetery will be private.

Born in Henrietta Township, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Filker was a graduate of Henrietta High School and M.B. Johnson School of Nursing in Elyria. She had worked for many years for Dr. Drygas’ office in Lorain and had worked for Allen Medical Center in Oberlin. She was a member of the Henrietta United Church of Christ, Women’s Guild and the Farm Women’s Club. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of people.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Hieatt of Dublin; a son, Kirk Filker of Wakeman; five grandchildren; and a brother, Maynard Dellefield of Henrietta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Filker; and her parents, Louis and Jessie (nee Kropf) Dellefield.
