MARY JUNE STREHLE

Mary June Strehle (nee Rosenkranz), 90, of Amherst, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at Denise's Adult Care in Lorain after a year-long illness.

Born in Amherst, she was raised and attended school in Amherst. She moved to Elyria in 1960 and relocated to Amherst in 1970, where she had resided for the past 36 years. Mrs. Strehle was employed as a cashier at Kroger's Grocery Store for 17 years until retiring. She attended Church of the Open Door in Elyria. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Stone City Chapter 325, Amherst.

Survivors include her son, Richard "Butch" Engle of Amherst; a stepson, Richard R. Strehle of Dayton; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Kozell of Las Vegas, Nev.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 27 years, Glenn Dellinger, Oct. 1, 1970; second husband of 21 years, Charles R. Strehle, June 19, 1995; a brother, Clyde Rosenkranz, Dec. 15, 1983; a sister, Blanche Mannon, June 29, 1995; and her parents, Arnold and Jane (nee Whyte) Rosenkranz.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, where services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, will officiate.

Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion.

She attended Church of the Open Door in Elyria and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Stone City Chapter 325, Amherst.

Survivors include her son, Richard ''Butch'' Engle of Amherst; stepson, Richard R. Strehle of Dayton; sister, Lois Kozell of Las Vegas, Nev.; and four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grand- children, five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
