FORMER RESIDENT MRS. BURNETT DIES
Mrs. Charlotte Burnette, 71, of Midland Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died Friday afternoon at the Collins Nursing Home, Pittsburgh, after a three-year illness.
Mrs. Burnett was born and lived in South Amherst many years; also in Amherst. She spent much time in St. Petersburg, Florida where she was a retired supervisor of the St. Petersburg High School. She had lived in Pittsburgh for the past eight months.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dale Bruner of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Robert Love of Frankfort, Germany; a sister, Mrs. Fred Schnaak of South Amherst; a brother, James W. Bruce of Amherst; and seven grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, James Gourley, and two brothers, Alex and Thomas Bruce.
Reverend Philip F. Swigart of St. Paul Lutheran Church conducted the funeral service Wednesday at the Garland Funeral Home. Burial was in Brownhelm Cemetery.
