Cecil E. Miller was the daughter of William Bismarck Miller and Rosa Emilie Grote.

She married Walter Frederick Barris on 2 Oct 1929 in the parsonage of St. John's Evangelical Church in Lorain, Lorain Co., OH.

Cecil died at Lorain Community Hospital and was buried 5 Nov 1984.

VARRIS [sic: ARRIS] B. CECIL

Varris [sic: Barris] B. Cecil, 78, died yesterday in Amherst after a brief illness.

Mrs. Cecil was born in Amherst on Sept. 1, 1906, and resided there all her life. She retired 13 years ago after working for the City of Amherst Utilities Dept. She was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ.

She is survived by one son, Donald of Wellington; four grandsons and one granddaughter; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1970.

The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851, Park Ave, Amherst. Rites will be held tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Joseph Foster officiating.

Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery in Vermilion. The family suggests contributions be made to St. Peters United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.

Cecil Barris, 78, life-long resident of Amherst, died Nov. 2 at Lorain Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Amherst, Sept 1, 1906, she was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ here. Mrs. Barris was a clerk for the City of Amherst Utilities Department, retiring 13 years ago.

Surviving are a son, Donald of Wellington; five grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Her husband, Walter, died in 1970.

Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of St. Peter United Church of Christ, Amherst.
