Ernest C. McConkey, 49, 120 W. Eighth St., died at 3:45 a.m. today (Monday, June 25, 1973) in Guernsey Memorial Hospital following an illness of eight months.
Born in Cambridge, May 24, 1931, he was a son of the late Edward and Maude McKim McConkey. He was a member of the Salvation Army and served as custodian of the Guernsey County Courthouse.
Mr. McConkey leaves his wife, the former Wilma Stevens, whom he married Jan. 8, 1948; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Ellen Stout, of the home; one son, Edward Charles McConkey, of the home; one granddaughter, Michelle Lee Stout; one sister, Mrs. Helen Buckey, Cambridge; and two brothers, Gordon McConkey, Springfield and William E. McConkey, Cambridge. Two sisters and one brother are deceased.
Friends may call at Scott Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Major Harry Sault of the Salvation Army officiating. Burial will be in North Salem Cemetery.
