William E. Goulait died March 6, 2009 at the age of 87. He was born January 15, 1922 in St. Clair, the son of William E. Goulait, Sr. and Marion Beck Goulait of St. Clair.

He leaves a daughter, Beverly J. Goulait of St. Clair and a granddaughter, Michelle Byers of Denver, Colorado.

Also he leaves 2 great-grandchildren, Matthew Worden and Alyssa Aldridge of Lansing, Michigan.

He sadly leaves his sister, Rita Purvis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivadell Marks Goulait, his wife of 38 years.

Also his sisters, Pearl Cahours and Frances (Micky) Miller, and his brother, Robert Goulait, all of St. Clair.

He recently lost his beloved daughter, Julieann Goulait.

William lost many friends and family in his life, and he mourned for all of them.

He worked at the Diamond Crystal Salt Co. for 38 years. He retired in 1985. He loved his work at the Salt Co., and missed his friends there.

He served in the Army 106th Infantry Division at the Battle of the Bulge in WWII, "The Golden Lions."
He was taken as a POW in Ardennes, France on December 15, 1943, and marched to Muhlberg, Germany.

He was a life member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. of St. Clair.

He also will be missed by his 4-legged best friend, Porkie, and Porkie will miss him.

His family will surley miss the hop in his walk and the jokes he told.

Today, William Goulait will glide on the wings of the Angels, and go to Heaven to kiss the face of God.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, St. Clair.
