Funeral Of Mrs. Maryett Mantor Is Held From Old Home At Bell Prairie.

The funeral of Mrs. Maryett Mantor, who passed away Saturday at Abbottsford, was held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from her home at Bell Prairie, town of Winneconne. Rev. O. E. DeWitt of Omro was in charge. Interment was in Bell Cemetery. Mrs. Mantor was born April 13, 1833 in Steuben Co., N.Y., and was the daughter of Zopher and Anna Dawley Cornell.
Her father was a native of Long Island and her mother of Steuben county, N.Y. Mrs. Mantor was the youngest of three children [David L., Marida & Maryette] and in the spring of 1849, together with her family, she came to Wisconsin. She attended school one year and the next year taught in Dodge county. Oct. 31, 1853, she was married at Allenville to Morris T. Mantor.
Seven children were born, Melvin Mantor of Milwaukee, Martin Mantor of Berlin, Myron Mantor of Abbottsford, Mrs. Mae Hurlbutt of this city, and Mrs. Nellie Cendt of Abbottsford surviving. Two daughters, Mrs. Ella Lozier of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and Mrs. Nettie Hough of Winneconne are deceased. Twenty-one grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive. Grandsons and one great-grandson acted as the pallbearers. Mrs. Mantor had lived at Bell Prairie until two years ago, when she went to Abbottsford to reside with her daughter and son. The home had been occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Mantor since marriage. During the civil war, Mr. Mantor joined the union army and Mrs. Mantor, left with three sons and one daughter, took charge of the farm duties.
