She was born on Dec. 10, 1964 in Canastota, the daughter of Richard A. and Jean Dick Weimer.
Dawn had lived in Canastota most of her life and was a 1983 graduate of Canastota High School. She had lived in Oneida for the past year.
She had worked at Arby's in Oneida and later at the Red Apple in Canastota.
Dawn enjoyed her family, as well as her pet parakeets and cockatiel.
She was first married to Francis Cromp and later married Thomas J. Chapman.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas; a son, Jakob Chapman at home; a daughter, Brandi Chapman at home; a step-daughter, Paige Chapman of DeRuyter; her mother, Jean Weimer of Canastota; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Richard H. and Mary Weimer of Chittenango, Leon D. Weimer, Thomas and Debbi Weimer and John and Dolly Weimer, all of Canastota; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Christopher VanLare and Theresa and Thomas Winchell, all of Canastota; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Dawn M. Chapman, 38, of Oneida, and a former Canastota resident, will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the J. Homer Ball Funeral Home, Inc., Canastota. Pastor Jeffrey Harnden of the Oneida Believers Fellowship will officiate. Burial will be in Whitelaw Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home, 201 James Street, Canastota. In her memory contributions may be made to the Dawn M.
