Laurena was the daughter of Deacon Tilmon Turner and Mrs Laura Taylor Turner. She was educated in the Houston County School System. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Kathleen, Georgia.

She was married to Charlie Wilson, Sr on December 7, 1913. She was preceded in death by 3 sons; James Henry Wilson, Jimmy Wilson and Aaron Wilson.

Survivors:
3 Sons: Tilmon Wilson, Charlie Wilson Jr. and George Wilson.
2 Daughters: Rosie Clyde Wilson Green, Lela Bell Wilson Wallace and Arlanders Wilson Johnson.
