Herman Anderson, School Custodian, Dies in Hospital

Herman C. Anderson, 5860 Arcola, died Jan.2 at the age of 56. He had been hospitalized for the past two weeks. A resident of Garden City for many years, he had been a custodian in the public schools.

He is survived by his wife Edna, a daughter Joann, his mother Mrs. Ida Anderson, two sisters, Mrs. Dena Mandel and Mrs. Selma Hendrickson, and a brother, Albert Anderson.

Services were held at Caldwell Funeral Home, yesterday conducted by Rev. Eskill Fredrickson. Burial was in Cadillac Memorial Gardens.

My Uncle Herman was adopted; Ida and Frank Anderson are not his biological parents. His biological parents were, I believe, one of Frank's siblings.

Herman's mother was one of Ida Anderson's sisters.

Herman's biological parents were Carl Anderson 69440813 (no relation to Frank Anderson) and Ellen Swanson 37203592. Ida Anderson 59230794 was Ellen's sister. Herman went to live with his Aunt Ida & her husband Frank Anderson soon after his father died. After living with them for awhile they adopted him. His biological siblings were Dena, Albert and Selma Anderson. Ellen soon remarried (Axel Johnson) and his half siblings were Anna, Esther, Viola, John Carlton, Melvin, Milton and Bernice Johnson. Ida & Frank Anderson's biological children were Lillian, Elmer, John, Deforest, Ella & Frank.
