bilene Reporter-News, Sunday Morning, February 4, 1962 (page 9-A, column 3 near the bottom) "Cisco Funeral For Mrs. Caldwell - CISCO (RNS) - Mrs. Martha Caldwell, 78, resident of the Cisco and Moran area for 25 years, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in a Wichita Falls hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born Jan. 14, 1884, she was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death on June 3, 1933, by her husband, J. E. Caldwell.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Wylie Funeral Home Chapel with Lon Jones, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will be in Dennis Cemetery at Moran.
Surviving are one stepdaughter, Mrs. W. E. Crouch (Carrie R Caldwell 1886-1966) of Batesville, Miss.; two nieces of Memphis, Tenn. (One niece was Carrie's daughter, Eddie Kate Crouch 1907-1994 and the other may have been a daughter of Carrie's sister Jessie).
Pallbearers will be Carl Lamb, Sutton Crosis, Harold Davies, Dr. C. M. Cleveland, J. W. Slaughter and Floyd Rains."
Martha was called "Matie" pronounced "M" + short "a" + "tea" according to her great nephew, Roy Steen.
