Jim grew up in LaVerkin and attended high school in Hurricane, St. George, and Provo, Utah. His mission took him to Sydney, Australia while his father was President of the Mission for the Morman Church. During WWII he served in a Navy intelligence Unit in Okinawa. After the war he graduated from UCLA, and joined the firm of Arthur Anderson. He then served as a tax consultant and controller for Esso Exploration. His work moved him and his family to Libya, Venezuela, Australia, New York and Texas. He transferred to BP and supported the Alaskan Pipeline out of California and Ohio. He retired in 1984 with his loving wife Donnie in Rockport, Texas. Jim will be remembered for his sense of adventure and his intense appreciation of the beauty in all people. He instilled in his friends and family his determined spirit, his great humor and his passion for living.
He is survived by his three daughters, Janet Schmickrath of San Antonio, Texas; Jacqueline Judd and her husband John Papanek of New York City; Joni Judd and her husband Lou Hess of Jupiter,Florida; and his son Michael Ramstrom; sister Mildred Judd Koenig and her husband, Herbert H Koenig of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is preceded in death by his wife Donnie, January 11, 2002.
