Gary David Wynn, Sr., 53, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 in Brooksville, Fla.

He was born in Jacksonville, Fla. April 24, 1955.

Gary lived in No. Ft. Myers, Fla. and was formerly of Arcadia, Fla. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a machinist mate aboard the USS Portland LSD 37. He was a licensed waste water operator, serving in that capacity for the city of Arcadia and Zolfo Springs, Fla. Gary was an avid camper and outdoorsman. He especially loved the annual camping adventures he spent with his cousin, Luke Wilson and their Camp Gowoppa buddies. Gary loved to strum his guitar and spend quality time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors are his beloved wife of 28 years, Linda Fennell Wynn, No. Ft. Myers and Arcadia; his two sons, Gary David (Shelly) Wynn, Jr., Arcadia, and Matthew Kerce, No. Ft. Myers; three daughters, Jaime and Kristal Wynn both of Arcadia and Staci Wynn, Ft. Myers; brother, Hal (Maime) Wynn, No. Ft. Myers; four sisters, Teresa (Ken) Hemmings, and Nancy Worth both Bushnell, Fla., Sheryl (Dave) Malmberg, Jacksonville, Denise (Mark) Barto, Valrico, Fla.; two grandchildren, Taylor Andrew Wynn, Arcadia and Chloe Renae Kerce of Ft. Myers; his beloved mother-in-law, Elizabeth Fennell, Arcadia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold V. Wynn, Sr. and Nora C. Wilson Wynn; and a brother, Charles Patrick Wynn.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Chapel, 50 No. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, Fl. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Nocatee First Baptist with the Rev. Hal Wynn and the Rev. David Malmberg officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Baptist Church, 8250 Littleton Rd., No. Ft.
