Donald Gene Hawkins, 33, formerly of Decatur, died early Sunday morning in an automobile accident near Waynesboro, Mississippi. He was born on July 6, 1936 in Decatur, the son of Claude Leslie and Winnie Faye (McCollough) Hawkins. He was employed by Big Chief Drilling Company. Survivors include his widow, Colleen Sue Hawkins; his daughters, Kathy of Bentonville, and Diane, Dawn, and Debra, all of the home; his son, Bradley of Bentonville; his parents of Decatur; his brothers, Jerryl Dean Hawkins and Joe Hawkins, both of Decatur, and Leroy Hawkins of Siloam Springs; his sister, Mrs. Leroy Long of Hinesville, Georgia; and his paternal grandmother, Rose Mae Philpott of Decatur. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Decatur Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery under the direction of Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.
