WILLIAM L. ZILLYETT

William L. Zillyett, 77, a lifelong resident of Amherst and a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Amherst, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, after being ill for six months.

In 1946 and 1947, he served in the Army and was stationed in Japan. For more than 30 years, he worked at American Crucible Products in Lorain, first as a machinist and then as an inspector. He retired in 1990. He enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Zillyett belonged to Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1442, Amherst, and VFW Post 451, Lorain.

Survivors include a son, Keith of Amherst; a daughter, Terri Oates of Elyria; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Theresa R. (nee Case) in 1990; a son, Dennis, earlier this year; his parents, William and Anna (nee Adams); and a brother, Floyd.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Ave., Amherst, where services will be 10 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Gary Bernath, of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Amherst.
