Gottlieb Sabiers was born in Briesen, Schwersens, Posen, Prussia (now Brzeźno, Poznan I, Wielkopolskie, Poland).

He was the son of Johann Carl Sabiers, Jr. and Maria Anna Magdalena Koch.

Gottlieb married Henrietta (Pfeiffer) Richter on 17 Aug 1856.

He was buried 27 May 1913.
