Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Riemer, Foster Park road, will observe their golden wedding anniversary this Sunday afternoon, with friends and relatives involved to help them celebrate the occasion. Open House will be observed from 2 to 5 at the residence.
Both were born in Europe, but came to America in their teens. Mrs. Riemer came from Hamburg, and Mr. Riemer from Bremer, Germany. They met in Cleveland and were married August 21, 1909 at the parsonage of Zion Lutheran church, 30th and Euclid. they moved to Amherst in 1911, at which time Mr. Riemer began working for the Cleveland Stone company. He had previously worked five years at the Cleveland Hardware company.
His work at the quarries was terminated in 1936 when he quit to go into farming. He still does light farming, including fruit-growing, an occupation which also serves as his hobby. His bride of 5- years takes pride in her flowers. Both are members of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
The couple have six children, 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Their children are Otto of Amherst, Clarence of Wellington, Adolf Jr. of Brunswick, Mrs. Leona Eshelman of Amherst, Mrs. Ruth Tirch of Oberlin, and Earl at home.

ADOLF RIEMER FUNERAL HELD SAT
Adolf Riemer, 82, of RD 2, Foster Park Road, died early last Thursday morning in the Amherst Hospital.
Born in Poland, Mr. Riemer came to the United States in 1906. He moved to Amherst in 1911. He was employed by the Cleveland Quarries Company, South Amherst, until 1936 when he began farming. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Surviving are four sons, Clarence of Oberlin, Otto of South Amherst, Adolf, Jr. (Bud), Brunswick, and Earl, at home; two daughters, Mrs. John Tirch of Oberlin, and Mrs. Amos (Leona) Eshelman of Amherst; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gustav and Paul of Germany and William of Cleveland; and a sister, Mrs. Dreger in Germany.
His wife, Martha, to whom he had been married 56 years, died January 22, 1967.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Phillip Swigart officiating. Burial was in Crownhill Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Hempel Funeral Home.
