STANLEY REICHERT PRESENTED AWARD FOR LOCAL SERVICE

A presentation of an award for meritorious and outstanding service to the community was made to Stanley Reichert, director of the Amherst Recreation Center, at the Class Night activities on Monday evening at the high school.
The first in Lorain county and one of very few in the state, the award was presented through the efforts of the local Civilian Defense Corps and bore the signatures of governor John Bricker and Ralph H. Stone, director of the Ohio State Council of Defense.
Presentation of the award was made by Mayor H. J. Kane as part of the program. Members of the senior class were instrumental in starting the Recreation Center and the award was included in the program.
Reichert has been director of the Recreation Center since its inception more than a year ago, devoting many hours each week without pay. Becoming recognized as a model youth program, the work there developed by Reichert has attracted wide-spread attention.
