Elmer Herman Reichert, Sr. was the son of Louis Christopher Reichert and Elizabeth S. Albrecht.

He married Anna Katherine Mulder in 1921.

Elmer died at the home of his daughter following a one-month illness and was buried 12 Apr 1980.

LOCAL EAGLE TEAMS WIN DART BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Amherst Eagles dart ball teams, both men's and women's, were victorious in the recent dart ball finals when the women defeated Norwalk at Tiffin and the men won from Tiffin at Lorain. This is the first year for Amherst to win in both divisions, marking their third year of league competition.

Grace Baker had the highest batting average for her team, with 482, and will also receive a trophy for the highest batting average in the league. Ann Reichert is credited with the highest number of "runs batted in" with a total of 32.
In the men's division, Henry Raesler won high honors for his 358 batting percentage. Albert Kluss had the highest number of "runs batted in", with a total of 26.
Trophies will be presented at a special meeting of league members on Sunday afternoon, April 17, at the Amherst Eagles home. Other members of the league besides Amherst, are Lorain, Huron, Sandusky, Bellevue, Norwalk, Fremont, and Tiffin.
On Sunday, April 24, the all-star game will be played in Fremont, with the following Amherst players eligible to participate: Henry Raesler, Elmer Reichert, Sr., Harold Raesler, and Grace Baker.

Elmer H. Reichert Sr., 78, of 160 Forest St., died April 9 at the home of his daughter following a one-month illness.
Born in Cleveland, January 28, 1902, he was an Amherst resident 73 years. A retired crane operator at U. S. Steel Lorain Cuyahoga Works, he was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ, past president of the Amherst Eagles and a member of the R.E.A.C. Club.
Surviving are his sons, Elmer H. Jr., Robert L., both of San Diego, Calif., Rolland R. Birmingham, Ohio; daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Naomi) Thomas, Amherst, Mrs. Dick (Elaine) Muniga, with whom he made his home, Mrs. Joyce King, Lorain; 20 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Stanley, Lewis and Frank, all of Amherst; sister Mrs. Lillian Wavrick, North Olmsted. His wife, Anna C., died October 11, 1974 and brother, Melvin in 1948.
Services were held in Garland Funeral Home, with burial in Crownhill Cemetery.
