LOCAL EAGLE TEAMS WIN DART BALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Amherst Eagles dart ball teams, both men's and women's, were victorious in the recent dart ball finals when the women defeated Norwalk at Tiffin and the men won from Tiffin at Lorain. This is the first year for Amherst to win in both divisions, marking their third year of league competition.

Grace Baker had the highest batting average for her team, with 482, and will also receive a trophy for the highest batting average in the league. Ann Reichert is credited with the highest number of "runs batted in" with a total of 32.
In the men's division, Henry Raesler won high honors for his 358 batting percentage. Albert Kluss had the highest number of "runs batted in", with a total of 26.
Trophies will be presented at a special meeting of league members on Sunday afternoon, April 17, at the Amherst Eagles home. Other members of the league besides Amherst, are Lorain, Huron, Sandusky, Bellevue, Norwalk, Fremont, and Tiffin.
On Sunday, April 24, the all-star game will be played in Fremont, with the following Amherst players eligible to participate: Henry Raesler, Elmer Reichert, Sr., Harold Raesler, and Grace Baker.

MRS. ANNA REICHERT, 71, DIES
An Amherst resident the past 53 years, Mrs. Anna Katherine Reichert, 71, was dead on arrival in Lorain Community Hospital - Oct. 11 at 10:15 p.m. She lived in Cliffview Towers Apartments, Brookview Drive.
Lorain County Corner William E. Kishman said she fell in Amherst Eagles Club. He added preliminary reports of an autopsy indicate she died of "natural causes."
Born in Hospers, Iowa, Nov. 3, 1902, she was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and Amherst Eagle's Club Auxiliary.
Surviving are her widower, Elmer H. Sr., to whom she had been married 53 years; three sons, Elmer H. Jr. of Amherst, Roland R. of Birmingham and Robert L., serving in the United States Navy and stationed in San Diego, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Naomi) Thomas, Mrs. Richard (Elaine) Muniga and Mrs. Joyce King, all of Amherst; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Conrad Mulder of Amherst, Karl Mulder of Brownhelm and Bert Mulder of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Boerman of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and Mrs. Margaret Greenslade of Amherst.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Garland Funeral home with the Rev. Robert A. Happel, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial was in Crownhill Cemetery.
