Asa Enslo "Ace" Rash was the son of Fredrick Lucien Rash and Maude Blanche Spurlin.

He married Ernestine L. Knipper on 28 Jan 1924 in Cuyahoga Co., OH.

Asa was buried 3 Oct 1989.

Rash services

Services for Asa E. "Ace" Rash. 90, of Amherst, who died Saturday, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. The Rev. Joseph R. Foster, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ, will officiate.

Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.

Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Born in Iowa. Mr. Rash was a 68-year resident of Amherst.

He retired in 1969 as a self-employed produce farmer, operating Rash's Produce Stand on Milan Avenue many years. From 1938-50 he owned and operated an excavating company in residential construction serving the greater Lorain area.

Mr. Rash was a member of Lorain Elks Club and Waverley Hunt Club in the Amherst-Wakeman area.

He was instrumental in the founding of Lorain County Animal Protective League of which he was a charter member.

Survivors include his wife, Ernestine L. (nee Knipper), to whom he was married 65 years; a brother. Robert I. of Monroeville; and a sister, Josephine Hess of Norwalk.

He was preceded in death by brothers Lewis and Homer, and a sister, Jennie Sabiers.

Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Society.
