Robert Donald Raesler, 76, of Elyria, died Aug. 1, 2004 at New Life Hospice St., Joseph Residential Center following a lengthy illness.
Raesler was born in Amherst, where he was raised and lived until moving to Elyria in 2001. He retired from 27 years of work for the U.S. Postal Service in 1988.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn Lou (nee Pelter); sisters Florence Leuszler and Dorothy Koba, both of Amherst, and Joyce Hill, of Vermilion; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Frances Raesler (nee Whyte).
Friends may call Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Mark Pemberton, pastor of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst will officiate.
Burial will be in Crownhill Cemetery in Amherst.
