William Robert "Bud" Nickel was the son of John Lloyd Nickel and Kathryn M. Swable.

WILLIAM NICKEL

William R. "Bud" Nickel, 58, of Amherst, died last week. Born in Lorain, Mr. Nickel had lived in the Lorain County area most of his life.

At one time, he was the owner of the Brownhelm Store, now known as Cutcher's Brownhelm Store.

A 1955 graduate of Amherst High School, Mr. Nickel served in the Army reserves and was called to duty during the Berlin crisis in Germany.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Nickel is survived by a son, Christopher of Seattle, a daughter, Melinda Nickel of Huron, and his father, John Lloyd Nickel of Amherst.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn (nee Swable) in 1989.

Burial was private in Crown Hill Cemetery with the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
