Charles George Mathes was the son of Friedrich and Caroline Mathes.

He married Wilhelmine Cahl on 1 Feb 1905 at St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed Church in North Amherst (now Amherst), Lorain Co., OH.

Charles died at the East Haven Rest Home in Elyria, OH and was buried 14 Sep 1957.
