Burton Joseph "Bud" Jenne was the son of Bert A. Jenne and Gertrude E. Heathcote.

He married Marilyn A. Pietch in 1942.

Bud died in the Amherst Hospital emergency room after an apparent heart attack and was buried 27 Sep 1990.

OBITUARIES - BURTON JENNE --

Burton "Bud" Jenne, 71, of Amherst, died Sept. 24 at Amherst Hospital emergency room after an apparent heart attack.

He was born Feb. 19, 1919, in Amherst, where he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1937.

From 1936-38 he owned and operated H & J Dry Cleaning in Amherst. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 755th Tank Battalion in England, Italy and North Africa. He was decorated with the Purple Heart.

Since 1948 he had raised standard bred horses on his Budmar Farms for the Sulke Races.

In 1958, he began a career as a starting judge, starting harness races in seven county fairs in the state.

He started races for 14 years at Pompano Park Race Track in Florida; 28 years at Scioto Down, Columbus; 13 years at the Little Brown Jug race track, Delaware; and more than 31 years at the Lorain County Fair.

He served on the Amherst board of education for one four-year term in 1963.

He was a 40-year member of the Amherst Noonday Club and was a member of the U. S. Trotting Association, the Ohio Standard bred Association and the Stonington Masonic Lode.

He was a member of the American Legion, Elmer Johnson Post 118 of Amherst. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20 of Lorain.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marilyn A. (nee Pietch); and a brother, the Rev. Foster Jenne of Circleville.

Services with full military honors by the Amherst Veteran Military Honor Guard were held in the Hempel Funeral Home on Sept. 27 with the Rev. Daniel E. Buser officiating. Burial was in Crownhill Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Nord Center Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
