FUNERAL RITES MONDAY FOR QUARRY VETERAN

Jacob Herbst, a veteran quarryman, who worked for 45 years extracting stone from quarries about Amherst, was buried Monday afternoon, with Rev. J. H. Bollens officiating.
Herbst came to this country 47 years ago and shortly after began working in Amherst quarries. For six weeks prior to his death he worked at the U. S. Automatic Corp.
Herbst is survived by his wife, Florence, and five daughters, Mrs. Olga Hutton, Mrs. Amelia Nickel and Mrs. Helen Stockstill, of Amherst; Mrs. Elsie Holle, Cleveland and Mrs. Florence Van Ausdale of Oberlin.
