GERALD "JERRY" FLOCK, 71, CO-OWNED D&J MASONRY
Gerald Frank "Jerry" Flock, 71, of Amherst died Sunday at Golden Acres Nursing Home in Amherst after a long illness.
Mr. Flock was born in Amherst and lived there all of his life. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1945.
Mr. Flock worked as a brick mason for 37 years. Nearly half of that time was spent as a partner and co-owner of D & J Masonry Co. He was a member of the Amherst Eagles. For many years, he also served as a trustee for that organization. Mr. Flock also was a charter member of the Amherst Meadowlarks Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed golfing, playing baseball and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of more than 49 years, Frances I. Flock (nee Robinson); sons William of Lorain and Larry of Amherst; daughters Linda Flock and Susan Ernst, both of Amherst; mother Mary Flock (nee Bardar) of Elyria; five grandchildren; brother Donald of Amherst; and sister Joan Gill of Avon.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Flock, in 1982.
There will be a graveside service at noon Saturday at Crownhill Cemetery in Amherst. Hempel Funeral Home in Amherst is handling the arrangements.
