Her obituary read: "Mrs Mayme M Spence, 68, of 1710 Plaza Way had been in failing health for several years when she died at a local nursing home Friday morning. Born Jun 7, 1902 in Washtucna, Wash., she spent her early years in Dayton where see attended school, later moving to Walla Walla where she spent most of the remained of her life. She attended Whitman College and in 1924 married Dale Spence who died in 1961. She was a member of the Centeral Christian Church here and the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her brother, Delbert May of California, two sisters, Mrs Nina Burnham of Lewiston, Mont. and Mrs Nita Shidler, Visalia, Calif. Services for Mrs Spence will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Funerial Home with the Rev Jasper C. Havens of Central Shristian Church officiating. Vault internment will follow in the Masonic Cemetery"
