Edna Standing Butler, age 95, died peacefully at her daughter's home in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 19, 1990.


Born November 30, 1894 in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory, the daughter of James Varley and Eliza Baddley Standing.


Married John Alvin Butler on November 29, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died on September 30, 1967.


An active member of the LDS Church, having served in various callings; as Primary president, Relief Society secretary, in the Sunday School and as Ward organist. She and her husband served together in the Gulf States Mission from 1964-1966.


Worked both for Utah Power and Light and the Salt Lake Credit Bureau as a secretary. Member of Rosslyn Heights Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting.


Survived by one son and two daughters, Kenneth A. Butler and wife Mildred; June B. Van Cott; Shirley B. Woodruff and husband, Rex; 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 1990 at 12 noon in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East South Temple Street, where friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
